Sorry, Bronco fans. If you sat on the fence about reserving your very own Bronco, well I’m afraid your chance of seeing that Bronco in your driveway at all, even next year, may have evaporated. Mounting evidence suggests demand for the coveted off-roader is so high, that Ford may not be able to climb out of it’s production hole until some time in 2022. You read that right 2022!

We found Bigfoot! Well, not quite – but observant Bronco fans spotted the Bronco Badlands edition, in Sasquatch package , parked in a lot next to it’s rival the Jeep Wrangler. No other details are available, beyond the photo, unfortunately.

Those of you who had your hearts set on the limited-run First Edition model Bronco will be happy hear Ford has doubled production to meet demand. The bad news is… well, you’re still going to wait up to 18 months for that shiny new toy to roll into your driveway.

Any doubts the Bronco is Ford’s answer to the Jeep, are evaporating as quickly as canned Spam on store shelves. Ford now seems to be gunning for the Gladiotor with an upcoming Bronco-based pickup. This would make a great deal of sense as the Bronco is already based on the Ranger platform – Ford’s mid-size pickup.
